The Bottom Line

The Pandigital Digital Photo Greeting Card looks like one of those large greeting cards with music--but instead, it has a small (1.44 inch) LCD screen and holds 50 digital photos in a slideshow. The card comes in all major holiday versions--birthdays, Valentine's Day, and so on--and is easy to set up. The screen is small, about an inch square. But for the cost (about $10 each), they're not much more expensive than regular cards (and far less annoying than music cards).

Guide Review - Review of the Pandigital Digital Photo Greeting Card

Looking for something new to give a loved one around the holidays? Why not a digital greeting card? Pandigital's digital photo greeting cards are about the same size as a typical card, but they include a small LCD screen and enough memory to hold 50 photos. A digital slideshow of the photos makes a nice gift.

There's not much to say about the card itself. It's very easy to put pictures on it--it has a mini-USB connection which allows you to attach it to a computer, then simply look for the photos and put them on the card. Since they need to be resized so that they're perfectly square, the program also allows some easy cropping to ensure a good fit. Once you've loaded the photos, that's it. Simply put it into the included envelope (if you want to mail it, use the included bubble wrap) and give it to the recipient. When he or she opens it, the slideshow begins.

If there's a drawback, it's simply that the LCD screen is quite small, so not every picture is going to work. But for about $10, I think the card makes a nice gift.
