The Bottom Line

This printer does only one thing, but it does it exceptionally well. For fine-looking, crisp, sharp monochrome prints, the Phaser is great. And it's amazingly fast as well. If you need a lot of bells and whistles, this isn't the one for you; but if you need a solid, fast, black-and-white printer, you can't go wrong.

Guide Review - Xerox Phaser 3250 Laser Printer

There's not a lot to say about the Xerox Phaser 3250. It's a monochrome, laser printer that doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. In fact, it doesn't have any at all, except that there is a networkable version of this printer available.

What there is to say is this: It's fast--amazingly so--and the print quality is excellent. If crisp and sharp text is what you're after, then you're going to love this printer. And boy is it fast! Granted, the first page takes a bit of time--around 8 or 9 seconds--but after that, you're off to the races. After that first page came out, the next five took only another eight seconds total. And using the built-in duplexer doesn't add a lot of time to the process.

There's a tab on the back of the printer where an Ethernet cable fits, and I mistakenly popped it off thinking I could network the printer. In fact this model, the 3250/D, can't be networked; a slightly different model, the 3250/DN, can be. It costs about $100 more.
