When you're on a business trip, and staying at a hotel, it can be really difficult to get things printed. While some higher-cost hotels will include printers in the room, most do not (and, in fact, at some you're lucky if you have a broadband connection.) However, if you're going to a hotel, and expect to do a lot of printing over the course of your stay, you have several alternatives.
More Printers / Scanners Quick Tips
- Find out if your hotel has a "business center." Many hotels offer printing, scanning, and other services to their guests. However, very often, these can be costly.
- Send your printouts to yourself as a fax. If you're not particular about the quality of your printout, you can often email your document to the hotel, and they will deliver it as a fax. There is usually a fee for this as well, but it may not be as expensive as printing out the document.
- Find out if there is a printing service located near the hotel. If the hotel is in the downtown area, or in a business district, it's likely that there will be a Staples or other similar business nearby that will offer printing/copying/scanning services.
- Buy yourself a portable printer. Finally, if it looks like you're going to do a lot of traveling -- and a lot of printing while you're traveling -- get yourself a small portable printer. It could save you a lot of hassle in the long run.
