Review Roundup: Dell Laser 3000cn

Sometimes reviewers can have different opinions about the same printer. In the case of the Dell Laser Printer 3000cn, PC World said it delivered respectable speeds while CNET thought it was slow; PC World said the 150-sheet paper tray was limiting while CNET called it generous; PC World said the unit wasn't as big as it looked, while CNET called it a "honking big color laser printer." Liked:The $449 Dell Laser Printer 3000cn blew away the competition in every tested category of quality, while printing at respectable speeds and achieving high marks for paper handling and usability.

Disliked: A standard paper tray hold[s] only 150 sheets. You get no manual bypass feeder or rear paper exit. The 3000cn's documentation is unimpressive.

In Short: Printer delivered excellent-quality text and solid graphics printing in a small footprint--and at a bargain price, too.

Disliked: Slow to knock out color prints and even slower to print text; bulky design.

In Short: This honking big color laser printer is too slow for heavy-duty network use, but it produces fantastic color output and clear text.
