CNET Review
Rating: 6.7 out of 10Liked: Easy to operate; 2.5-inch LCD; built-in memory-card reader; Mac and Windows compatible.
Disliked:Mediocre output quality; no battery option; printhead nozzles require frequent cleaning.
In Short: Although inexpensive to operate and easy to use, the Canon Selphy DS810's mediocre output limits this compact photo printer's appeal for serious photo enthusiasts.
PC Magazine Review
Rating: 4 out of 5Liked: Prints from computers, memory cards, and PictBridge cameras. Easy to set up and use. Once dry, output is smudgeproof, waterproof, and, for most output, true photo quality.
Disliked: Cost per print varies significantly depending on which paper you use, with Canon's best-quality paper costing as much 45 cents per print for the paper alone.
In Short: The Canon Selphy DS810, which can print up to 4- by 8-inch output from computers, cameras, or memory cards, lets you choose between printing reasonably high-quality photos quickly for as little as 29 cents each, or higher-quality photos that take twice as much time at twice the price.
PC World Review
Rating: 3 out of 5Liked: Inexpensive.
Disliked: No way to print black-and-white photos without using a computer; dull prints when printing from a camera card; images lose shadow detail when printed from Mac or PictBridge; no battery option.
In Short: The Canon Selphy DS810 had trouble overcoming its limited three-color ink palette. Prints looked better when we printed from the computer, but thats not how most people will want to use this product. If youre looking for a compact photo ink-jet printer to take with you, the Epson PictureMate Deluxe Photo Viewer Edition or the Hewlett-Packard Photosmart 385 GoGo will serve you better.
