Guide Review - Brother MFC-J6710DW All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer
Print speeds were perfectly adequate and even impressive. At normal quality, a four-page Word document took only 35 seconds, with the first page out in 17 seconds, leaving about six seconds a page for subsequent pages. Printing the same document using the duplexer took twice the time. There are a number of settings designed to help you save ink and make pages with ink on both sides less floppy; however, using these settings drove printing time to 2:28 for four pages, and the results looked unimpressive. Compare that with recently reviewed Epson WorkForce 635 All-in-One Inkjet Printer that's half the price and puts out better-looking duplex pages.
For an all-in-one, there was nothing to complain about in terms of photograph printing. Not only is it fast (a 4x6 took less than 30 seconds), but the final results are very good. In fact Brother's Innobella color inks seem to do a fine job; so does the black ink, as long as you choose "high" rather than "normal" quality. That will use up your ink cartridges faster, but the results are well worth it. The printer has a built-in PhotoCapture feature (for PictBridge and memory sticks) that allows basic on-board photo editing features such as auto correct and red-eye reduction.
