Epson says that the NX515 is the fastest printer in its class (about $150 or below). It does its print tests based on ISO standards. At its fastest, it can print black at 36 pages per minute (ppm) or color at 36 ppm. For what Epson calls "laser quality" printing, black pages can be printed at 15 ppm, color at 9.3 ppm. A 4x6 photo can be as fast as 20 seconds. Maximum resolution is 5,760 x 1,440 dots per inch.

Photo Printing

The printer has PictBridge support and has built-in memory-card slots for the following media: Compact Flash® (memory card only), Microdrive®, Memory Stick®, Memory Stick Duo™ (with adapter), MagicGate™ Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick Duo (with adapter), Memory Stick PRO™, Memory Stick PRO Duo (with adapter), SD™, SDHC™, MiniSD (with adapter), MiniSDHC (with adapter), MicroSD (with adapter), MicroSDHC (with adapter), MultiMediaCard™, xD-Picture Card™, xD-Picture Card Type-M, xD-Picture Type-M+, xD-Picture Card Type-H.

Scanning

The NX515 offers a color flatbed scanner. Optical resolution is 2,400 dots per inch (dpi), up to 9,600 x 9,600 dpi.

Extras

The NX515 has a manual duplex feature. It has Wi-Fi and Ethernet built in for wireless or wired networking. The printer has a 2.5" tiltable LCD screen and uses four separate ink cartridges that contain DURABrite Ultra pigment ink that is smudge, fade, water, and highlighter resistant).
