"Input Tray"

By Peter Piazza, About.com

Definition: An input tray is the tray from which blank sheets are fed into the printer or scanner. When purchasing a printer, it is a good idea to check the capacity of the input tray -- the more sheets it takes, the less often you'll have to refill. Input trays also have the ability to handle different paper sizes -- while most can handle envelopes and sheets up to legal size, more pricey printers can often handle larger sheets. Printers in the $500 and up range can also often accept additional input trays.
