Dutch Company Makes Greener Fonts
Tuesday December 23, 2008
There have been many attempts at helping to make printing more environmentally friendly, and many of them make perfect sense. Case in point: Use the duplex feature on your printer to save on paper, or use the "draft mode" to use less ink. But SPRANQ, a company in The Netherlands, has a new and free way to print using fewer resources. It's created a font called Ecofont that is filled with tiny circles; this means, the company claims, that you'll use 20 percent less ink when you print. That's a novel approach to making ink tanks last longer!
