Samsung SCX-4500 Monochrome Laser Printer Reviewed

There's a line from The Simpsons that always sticks in my mind, where Carl says, "It's like living in the not-too-distant future." That's how I felt testing the Samsung SCX-4500 Monochrome Laser Printer. Its sleek, glossy finish, the smooth surface (the buttons are soft-touch sensor panels), and above all the very cool blue LED status indicator and the quiet chirp of alarm tones all made me feel like my home office was in the year 2020. That said, the printer--which is excellent--is missing a few bells and whistles that would make it a must-buy item. Still, it is certainly a triumph of style, if not necessarily of substance.
