Reducing Printing Costs: Tips for Businesses

There are some great tips in an article on NewYorkIT.com that will help businesses cut costs by looking carefully at their printing needs and existing equipment. Everything is covered, from making sure duplex printing is turned on (and home users can save big bucks using this same tip--the amount of paper you'll save is amazing) to using direct IP printing to eliminate the need for additional hardware (print servers). There's some great advice. How much will business save? The unnamed author writes:
I would love to tell you that you can save $100,000 a year in hard dollar savings by doing just this one step. But I can’t. You need to do the research, get your environment documented, and decide what is the best fit for your enterprise. I will tell you that a 100,000 duty cycle multifunction device that never faxes and only prints 3,000 pages a month is a HUGE waste of cash. Stop the leak.
