Kodak ESP 5 Printer Reviewed

Monday October 13, 2008
Kodak ESP 5 Multifunction PrinterThe Kodak ESP 5 multifunction printer is fairly inexpensive, but despite the decent quality of the prints, it's probably worth the extra money to get a multifunction printer that prints faster and adds a few bells and whistles, such as an automatic document feeder. Newer versions of the ESP line are networkable, another bonus from some extra bucks.

My friend has the Kodak ESP 3, says the copy’s of pictures is fantastick. It is very slow printing, and makes a lot of noise. But for the price and the excellent copying of pictures she is happy with it. Main purpose of purchase of printer was the savings on ink cost and of course the quality in print offs. So I guess she is a satisfied customer.

I’ve always used HP printers, but I wanted to get rid of my real big HP Scanner. So, I gave my HP 8150 printer to my wife and bought a Kodak ESP5. It had everything I needed and took much less space on my desk.
This printer is not only noisy & slow, but I just went out to buy some more ink for it, and Office Depot said we don’t & won’t handle them anymore (ESP5 Kodak). So I went to Best Buy and they had one more ESP5 ink package left.
So, I bought the ink, and now have to start researching for a new HP All in One printer.
After I had the ESP5 for about a month, they contacted me, and ask how I liked my printer. I guess the truth hurt them so bad, they never responded!

Kodak ESP5 or Kodak ESp 7
What a nightmare….Alfter buying one ESP% from Best Buy and having three others shipped from Kodak as replacements. I have given up. They are a piece of junk. The company has done nothing to give me a refund. I am still waiting for another ctn. and label to return the other ESP 7 printer, so I can return it. None of them PRINT.

ESP5 STARTS OUT GREAT, THEN AFTER 2 INK CHANGES THE PICTURES COME OUT AS IF THE CAMERA TOOK THE PICTURE IN A THICK FOGG,
I USE KODAK JUST FOR PRINTING BLACK LETTERS

I have the ESP5 and am very pleased with it. I replaced an HP all in one due to the high ink cost and have been very satisfied.

I have a Kodak Easy Share 5100 All-in-one printer. It is HORRIBLE! This is the 3rd printhead in less than 2 years. I am definitely changing brands. Their support is not very helpful and they keep you on hold FOREVER!

Bought ESP5 in Dec. Started out great. Now it won’t print Black sometimes.Take out the black cart and place back in and it will print. Goes thru ink like it is drinking it. Very disappointed in this printer. I regret buying it.I think I wasted my money. Tried to get online help.A joke. I knew more than they did. Save your money

(10) Richard says:

I have a Kodak printer and it is a piece of junk. I spend more time trying to get this piece of junk to print than I ever had with my HP. I have to reline this piece of junk every time that I turn the printer on. I waste more time and ink that with any other printer that I have ever had. If you want a printer buy HP I have had the best luck with them than any other printer that I have had.

We were excited about the new Kodak printer and saving money on “ink”! We finally found a place to purchase it and went on line to research comments made by customer/users and now we are undecided because of strong negitive comments and lack of Kodak support and ink cartridge supplies.
What can you tell us! We live in Roch.NY and can’t connect up with a real person to give us advice etc!
Would appreciate a response! Thank you

(12) Vickki says:

I’m very disappointed in this printer. It goes through ink at a rapid rate making the cost of ink replacements moe than they sre for other printers that have cartridges that last longer. Also if one of the cartridges is low or empty the printer will not work at all, it just displays an error, so you can’t even scan or copy ro your PC. Would not recommend and I’m looking into another brand of all – in -one printer.

(16) Anthony says:

Don’t buy this printer. Sure the ink is cheap and OK quality, but the printer is a pile of junk. Switching it on is like listening to a cement mixer as it churns and grinds its way through a start routine. The print quality is satisfactory, but the thing jams on a consistent basis, what a pain. Customer support is a joke. It’s difficult to imagine anyone in Kodak has ever heard of customers, or support. Save your money, buy anything but this printer.

They ought to put all these in the junkyard!!! Although they would make a good alarm clock with all the noise they make.
