The Amazon.com Ink & Toner Finder makes it easy to find a refill for your printer's inkjet or laser toner cartridges. Well, strike that. It should make it easy; but it actually seems to make it more complicated. While the interface is nice, allowing you to choose the manufacturer, the series, and then the specific model, tests showed that it wasn't all that reliable. I searched for a toner cartridge for the Brother MFC-7840W. The results page gave me eight hits, three from Brother and five from replacement-ink vendors. Upon closer examination, however, none of the eight toner cartridges was the right one for this laser printer. Similarly, a search for inkjet tanks for the HP Deskjet F4280 came up with four hits, all from HP; none of them really fits the 4280, however.
Bottom line? Looks like Amazon needs to do some fine tuning. If you use the Ink & Toner Finder, check the results carefully to see if they will really work with your printer's series and model.

Amazon is also missing tons of opportunity with this new tool. If they have wrong or missing information customers will eventually give up on it. I hope they get it fixed – Maybe they will try my supplies finder for ink and toner on Amazon?
