Tips on Wireless Networking

Tuesday May 27, 2008
I'm seeing more and more printers fitted with wireless-networking cards, and many other printers can fitted with a USB token that turns them wireless. That means there's no more need for cables, and you can print from any computer on your network from anywhere (more or less) in your house or office.

Setting up a home network in the first place can be a trying affair, however. I've found a few great resources to get you started on your quest of wireless printing. Bradley Mitchell is a wireless-networking expert, and he has tons of step-by-step instructions into setting up a home network. Etan Horowitz of the Orlando Sentinel has a nice article on taking the first steps toward wireless printing. And Microsoft offers a handy tutorial called 4 Steps To Set Up Your Home Wireless Network. Something tells me it'll take more than four steps, but it's helpful nonetheless. Good luck!
