Copy Center Or Home Printer?

Tuesday October 17, 2006
This afternoon, my partner went over to a copy center to print out some brochures. Why did he go to a store to get it done instead of doing it on his own printer? Because he thought it would be faster -- and, because of the price of ink, cheaper.

He came back in a very bad mood. He told me that the price of getting his brochures printed on both sides of a plain piece of paper was 16 cents each -- which, when you consider he wanted about 300 pieces printed, was running into quite a bit of money.

The moral of the story? If you've got a large number of pages to print, and you're first thought is to get it done professionally, consider -- if you allow enough time for your printer to handle the job, you may save a bit of money in the end.
