Britain's Office of Fair Trading has declared that the IT industry has made some improvements, but also points out that there are still ongoing battles over ink cartridges. Things have gotten better -- according to a spokesperson, printer companies are no longer telling customers that they will violate their warranties if they use third-party cartridges -- but there are still a lot of issues yet to be solved.
