Kodak Printers For The Rest Of Us

Thursday September 15, 2005
Sometimes it takes a while for a manufacturer to realize it can't force its customers to use only its products, and still remain in the race. Kodak, which has certainly successfully marketed its cameras for many, many years, has finally decided to allow those of us who don't use Kodak cameras to print from its well-regarded snapshot printers.

Two new Kodak EasyShare Photo Printers (as described in this NY Times article) can now link directly to cameras that use the PictBridge printing technology or (in the case of the more expensive EasyShare Photo Printer 500) accept memory cards, USB flash memory, or Bluetooth links. So if you want your photos printed by Kodak, but love your non-Kodak camera, you can now have the best of both worlds.
