Printers For Free

Okay, you've got a brand new printer and aren't sure what to do with the old one. After all, it still works -- but it's too old to sell, and none of your friends want it.

You might want to try an online Yahoo list group called Freecycle. You basically offer to give away an item, or search the list for something you want. Then you make arrangements with the party for the pick up. No money or trading -- just stuff that one person wants and the other doesn't.

I was reminded of the service by an article in the Christian Science Monitor about somebody who got rid of an old printer that way. You want to try it? Go to groups.yahoo.com and do a search for the term "freecycle." See if there's a group in your area.
