New Canon Photo Printers
Wednesday February 11, 2004
The Photo Marketing Show is in Las Vegas this week, and Canon has already announced three new photo printers. The Canon i9900 is an eight-color (red, green, cyan, magenta, yellow, black, photo cyan, and photo magenta) photo printer that can print photos up to 13 by 19 inches, with a maximum resolution of 4800 by 2400 dots per inch. The $499.99 printer won't be on the shelves until May, 2004.
For photographers on the go, Canon's i80 mobile printer can handle edge-to-edge borderless printing in 4x6, 5x7, and 8.5x11 inch sizes, with resolutions up to 4800x1200dpi. The device is scheduled to ship in mid-February for $249.99; if you're willing to pay a bit more, you can add a power unit that plugs into a car cigarette lighter, or a lithium ion battery.
Finally, for companies that need wide-format printing, Canon's ImagePrograf W6200 prints images up to 24x60 feet. This high-end printer is scheduled to ship in February for $3,495.
